Radiant Comfort for Calgary Homes

Radiant underfloor heating is one of the most efficient and comfortable ways to heat your home. Instead of blowing hot air through vents, it heats your floors evenly from below, creating consistent, draft-free warmth.

For outdoor applications, our snow melt systems keep driveways, walkways, and patios clear of ice and snow without shovelling or salt. Perfect for Calgary's long winters and freeze-thaw cycles.

What We Offer

  • Hydronic underfloor heating
  • Electric radiant floor heating
  • Driveway snow melt systems
  • Walkway and patio snow melt
  • Boiler installation for radiant systems
  • Thermostat and zone controls
  • Radiant system repairs
  • New construction and retrofit

PeakFlow designs and installs radiant systems built to handle Alberta's extreme temperatures.

Radiant systems touch the rest of the mechanical room. A hydronic install usually needs a boiler and a manifold, which is the same skill set as our water heater work, and a boiler feed frequently means new gas line capacity. If the goal is a warm workshop rather than a warm floor, a garage heater is often the cheaper honest answer and we will say so. We also replace and re-commission boiler controls on existing plants, including the commercial control swap shown on our residential and commercial plumbing page.

Why Calgary Property Owners Call PeakFlow

Radiant heating is unforgiving of shortcuts, because most of the system is under concrete or subfloor by the time anyone tests it. Ronan and Khalil design the zones first, pressure-test before anything gets covered, and commission the controls with you rather than leaving a manual on the counter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is underfloor heating worth it in Calgary?
For the right space it is one of the most comfortable heating methods available, because it warms surfaces rather than blowing air. It works especially well in basements, bathrooms and tile floors. It is a larger up-front investment than forced air, so the question is usually where in the house it earns its cost.
Can radiant heating be retrofitted into an existing home?
Often yes, though the approach differs. Electric mats work well under tile in a renovation, while hydronic retrofits are easier when there is access from below, such as an unfinished basement ceiling. We assess the access before quoting.
How does a snow melt system work?
Tubing is embedded in the driveway, walkway or patio slab and warm fluid circulates through it, keeping the surface above freezing so snow melts as it lands. Sensors trigger the system automatically. It removes both shovelling and the salt that damages concrete.
Can you add a snow melt system to an existing driveway?
Snow melt tubing has to sit inside the slab, so retrofitting means replacing the driveway surface. It is best planned alongside a driveway replacement you were already considering, and we will tell you plainly if the timing does not make sense.
Do you repair radiant systems you did not install?
Yes. We diagnose and repair existing hydronic and electric radiant systems, including zone valve failures, manifold issues, control faults and circulation problems.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Calgary and the surrounding communities of Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere and Okotoks. If you are just outside those boundaries, call us and we will tell you honestly whether we can get to you.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. PeakFlow Plumbing and Heating is fully licensed and carries comprehensive liability insurance, and all of our work meets Alberta building and safety codes. We are happy to confirm our credentials before you book.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday to Friday from 7AM to 5PM and Saturday from 8AM to 4PM. We are closed Sunday. Leave a message outside those hours and we will get back to you on the next business day.
Do you provide free estimates?
Yes. We provide free quotes on most plumbing and heating projects. Call (825) 773-1297 or send us the details through the form on this page and we will give you an upfront price before any work starts.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, cheque, e-transfer and major credit cards. Payment terms are agreed upfront before work begins, so there are no surprises at the end of the job.
